Default Re: tow rigs

im trying to work a deal to sell my k5 and pick up an older f250, not so much as a tow rig but more of a back up if the h cant handle it.

im going to go ahead and express my opinion here....

from what ive read of what they "can" pull. what an h3 is rated to pull, what people have pulled with it, the equipment thats on the truck....etc etc etc

here is what ive come up with. this rig is more than capable of pulling the rigs im looking at. the ONLY issue would be stopping it and if you were to drag a rig the size im looking at with out trailer brakes then i question your thought process in the first place. the trans overheating can be an issue. with a good cooler and not driving like a jack wagon, here in the flat part of the country that i live in, i think ill be ok. the only issue that i can see that i cant fix or upgrade is my wheel base. that is something that ill have to feel out and see what happens. but either way when we end up gettin this set up ill post up and let yall know how she does, how she pulls, and what if any issues i have with it

thanks for all the input though

Steel braaided brake lines on my h2 made a huge difference and I had the upgraded brake package on my you hauler, wouldn't do it any other way.
