Although it's a hassle, you are always better to sell your old vehicle outright. Dealers are in business to make money and I don't begrudge them that, as long as they are fairly upfront. One of my best friends is a retired Cadillac salesman with 48 years of selling Cadillacs. He had to support a family and you are not going to beat them at their own game and I can listen to his stories for hours. I don't begrudge anyone trying to make his business succeed, but I hate the crazy lines they throw at you - it's just part of the game. It's always the nobody wants your old model and everyone wants these new *****. That's what I loved about dealing with Lynch on my two Hummers. One price, no haggling take it or leave it and a fair representation of their cost vs your trade in value.
