Knock sensor replacement

I have replaced mine twice because i like playing in the local ponds. Its not a tuff job but can seem like alot of work when you think about their location. If you want I can give you some directions and pics let me know good luck.

yeah there's a bit to take off but nothing to hard. They are located under the intake so it has to come off. If you are going to tackle this job make sure you buy a new wiring harness from the dealer and replace this at the same time. And just my advice don't buy the new knock sensors from a local chain parts store get the dealer replacements. I believe my harness was $40ish and the sensors $80-$90ish a piece. Also pick up a new intake manifold gasket. you maybe able to reuse yours without issue but trust me you wont wanna take it back apart to fix a leaky intake.

well ive managed to get it apart. pretty sure i know where everything else goes to put it back except one wire. in the middle of the intake. looks like a spark plug wire kind of.

you got the part numbers for the harness and gasket? how do you release the harness on the senors?

Also remove the foam from the back of the intake this will allow water to exit out the back side and build a half moon dam with silicone on the front side of the knock sensor seals so water entering the intake valley from the front side will go around the dam and exit the back. This will keep water from pooling in the sensor holes

to release the connector squeeze together on the wide side of the connector, i usually use needle nose pliers cause they can be tough.
