Default Re: I have the new 2012 Nav Disc!

$40 per copy is more than recouping costs! I have the software to burn it as an ISO and was FREE! Discs are cheap. I will give you that it does take a bit if searching on line to get the knowledge on how to do it!

As far as working or not, much of this will depend on the individual reader in the units. MANY of the GM nav units CANNOT handle reading a copied dual layer disk. I made a back up copy of mine about two years ago on high quality discs and many times I would need to eject and reinsert the copy mutliple times for the NAV to recognize it was a map disc. I threw it out.... Glad to hear your works but caution you that it does not mean that it will work for everyone...

What you just admitted was you stole it. I bought (maybe foolishly) the disc from gmnavdisc.com. Lesson learned so yes it would be nice to at least break even. So far I have never had any read issues using Memorex discs.

How did you get that I stole it from my post? My last Nav disc was sent to me FREE by GM as I qualified for 2 free update discs during my ownership. I attempted to make a back up copy of my actual GM disc and results were not acceptable for me to use a back up. I also used Memorex along with a few other brands and none of them would allow the unit to read the disc every time.

X2... this was my experience also! Back up copy I made seemed to work OK and boot up successfully for the first several times (a period of a couple of weeks), but for what ever reason it started working sporadically, and finally quit working all together after that.
