Thats the issue my daily parking at work is only 7'1" in clearance.

btw what constitutes a blow out to you?
I was thinking about what the other guys said, and really I have only suffered a couple of flats where the tire itself is so far destroyed that it cannot be used to travel home on if fixed (ie. my M3 had a bubble that popped in the inner side wall, the tire on ex gf's car was shredded because she drove it to the cord, my old tundra ran over a piece of iron in the middle of the road and it jammed into the tire)

normally i have found that most flats are from slow leaks

Unless you're an artist with fiberglass and woodwork like the guys on overhaulin I wouldn't go cutting up the inside of the truck. Most times it seems like a good idea in the minds eye but turns out looking like crap. My .02

Yeah when I say blow out I mean literally. I'm just glad I wasnt going highway speed. Tire blew out the side and was barely hanging on the wheel. I was using used military tires but I'm going to switch back to stock Bfg all terrians, for better mpg and a long lasting tire. It was my first blow out, it was probably because the tires were used/old.

Yeah I only had one and it happened on my car, and thats because the PO stretched a tire on the rim and it formed a bubble on the sidewall.

POP!

Why anyone stretches tires I havent a clue.
