Re: need immediate tranny help
i do know i do not what a stock 4L65E put back in.
it has to be upgraded/beefed up to last another 5 years or so.
i was planning on getting the stage 2 tranny from the company the shop uses, they call it the Ripper 2000
http://www.certifiedtransmission.com/roadripper2000.asp
also my max budget for all work is $3500. but that has to include everything...
also, im sure my wife would like that to be alot less too...
i would love to be able to drop in a 6 speed tranny and not have to worry about any programing, or crazy wiring or anything, as im sure this shop would rape me in costs. as they have never done a conversion like that, im sure there would be some corners cut, or makeshift wiring or something that would bite me in the ass when i really need it to work right.
so feel free to offer any advice
Re: need immediate tranny help
Went with the roadripper 2000
Total cost is $4100
That includes freight, installation/labor, taxes and some additional things I'm having them fix while they are at it.
Not happy with the cost, nor knowing if I'm getting a good product. Just don't want to get something that will fail on me while I'm away from home, nor within the next few years. The warranty is solid though.. 3 year / 50k miles and I can take to any shop for repairs. So that's a good thing.
I guess I'm worried that my H2 failed on me at a critical time, I don't know if something else will give out before I get home.
