Re: chrome painting?
did I read that right?
You think it would be easier to scuff it then to strip it?
and that stuff you told me about.... if the grill is scuffed up wouldnt that make for bad results (since it was said that if you scuffed it you could see the scuffing in the "blackened chrome"?

Re: chrome painting?
As for the Dupli Color Black Chrome kit you DO NOT scuff anything. The instructions say that because the scratches would show through the finish since the finish is transparent.
I can take some pics of the handles I did so you can get a better idea how it would look. It's storming like crazy here so hopefully tomorrow!
Re: chrome painting?
Cleaned it well to get rid of the dust.
I then used duplicolor (color matched the rest of the H2). I used two big cans of each paint and clear coat (total 4 cans). It has held up GREAT!
Dont forget to the back side too. If you dont, when you are walking from the back to the front you will see chrome "line" across the hood and sides which is the thickness of the grill. Hope that makes sense.

Re: chrome painting?
Yeah I am just trying to think of a way to change it up where the front isnt so BLING yet not have a big white snow mobile either. Thats why I was thinking about having the chrome tinted darker
Thanks for the advice though, it all makes sense and is encouraging to know that if I did go that route, it would hold up
