WoW, yep I went and checked the codes again and it kept saying the ignition switch....Go FIGURE: So Wellll I changed the ignition switch and so far its working..... just doesn't seem right that a switch on the ignition could not let the trans shift. MY Trans guy says that there's not enough voltage from the switch and this happens. also there's a wiring harness they could install that might fix this issue but I decided to go back original as much as possible. I found some great videos on u-tube that really helped... (good thing to cause I was almost ready to take it down when working of course and trade it in) boy that would have been a mistake. GOTTA LOVE THIS SITE..

Agreed...this site is a great resource for research on these trucks, but unfortunately the activity has died off; so you don't typically get a fast response to new questions.

If you're keeping your truck (and it sounds like you are) I'd HIGHLY recommend that you join clubhummeroffroad.com. It's a very active site, with many of the same members that use to contribute here on Elcova.

Glad to hear everything is working out for you...I'm with you though, doesn't seem logical that the ignition switch would/could have that effect on the tranny, weird.
