Hi all. I have been wanting a Hummer for quite some time. I have found one I want, but am hesitant, for the following reasons.

I have done some research and stumbled across the FUH2 site. I was horrified to see the animosity directed towards Hummers and their drivers. I saw pictures of people peeing on unattended Hummers, as well as flipping people the finger. It hurt my feelings to see how people seem to judge others, just because they drive Hummers. I also read that people will write onscenities into the dirt on their unattended Hummers! I am a nice and calm person, but I think I would freak right out if someone did this to me. They have no right to judge and hate others the way that they do.

I am also concerned about how the vehicle handles in the snow. You know, stopping distances and all. It is summer here in Alberta and the standard dealership test drive on a hot sunny day does not cut it. It is big, but is it really that hard to navigate? Of course I found it gigantic, but I drive a 2 door Tahoe, and it pales in comparision to the size of an H2. I would park it at the back of any parking lot, but I am afraid some jacka$$ will mess with it now that I saw the FUH2 site.

A small concern is the gas mileage, but I know that does not come with the Hummer. However I have read so many different stories of gas consumption. Nine miles to the gallon is rather bad. I have also read people get 14 miles to the gallon as well... in the city. I would like to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly for real Hummer owners.

I have wanted an H2 since I saw my first one on CSI. I love them, and the aftermarket for them is so glorious. The H2 I am looking at is maroon (not my first choice of color, but the truck was loved and polished all the time), and have all the black bush gaurds and nerf bars on it. I am already planning on have all the stuff chromed as well as the front and rear bumpers. I have also been drooling over all the chrome odds and ends that will cost a small fortune. Then of course there is the new rubber and rims I am wanting.

I am so excited, but am afraid that ignorant people will destroy any pleasure I might have in owning one. I also am disheartened by the 9 mile a gallon deal for fuel consumption. I cannot see why it would be so poor, but you never know. I also am aware many people are alarmist and are probably exaggerating on the consumption.

I am going to the dealership tonight to haggled out a price, and hopefully do not back out. I came to this site for hopes my fears and reservations would be set aside.

Nice to meet you all.

Diana

Dianna...Greetings and welcome to the forums! Don't let anyone else's opinions cause you discomfort or have any effect on your decision. Display prominantly a NRA sticker/hat/t-shirt and your vehicle will be left untouched.

When criminals and terrorists get the hint that they may lose their life in disrupting yours, they tend to get the hint to move on. I hope that you find something that works out for you, but given your location, I cannot answer very many of your concerns directly.

Message to Gorton....STFU and catch your dinner, bastid!

The only echo he hears is from his a$$. gorton's boyfriend uses this on him before commencing the nastiness. You know he's proud of it's size.

Judging by the time, you must have just come from school... too bad they make you ride on the little yellow bus.

Get a girlfriend, join the gym, do outdoor activities. You can't possibly be a happy person when you need to come here and insult others. I feel sorry for you.

Gorton,

Have to agree with you about how monsterous H2 is. H2 is one of the coolest turcks ever made and maybe the best in off road wise, I know you'd like to have one, Me too! I like it black. What's your favourite color?

OMG!!! You are a fool. People can and do bodybuild without steroids. Diet and exercise are key in any fitness program. I will not disclose what I do for a living, but I will tell you part of my living is knowing what I am talking about in this department.

Funny how you contradict yourself. First you say I have to put out to get my Hummer from my husband. Now you say I don't get any due to steroid use. I don't disclose much info about my personal life, however, my husband and I have NO PROBLEMS in that department. I also have sex because I love him and find him attractive (unlike youself). He does not need to buy my affections. Honestly, by the way you speak, you have never seen what a true loving, successful and mutual relationship is. So sad to have never known it...

So do not belittle me for judging you, when you have done the exact same thing since you responded to my post. I never asked for your verbal assult and judgement. I want a Hummer, because I like them. I am not so shallow and my life does have meaning. I don't need a vehicle to fill in any sort of gap. Some people bust their asses for a living, and have worked hard for every single thing the own. Some people want to enjoy the fruits of their labor. You probably have never even had the pleasure of driving or riding in a Hummer, so it is beyond your comprehension of what it feels like. Hummers are not the most attractive vehicle on the road, however they compansate in their confort, and purpose.

I judge you and your life, due to how you conduct yourself towards other people. A well raised, and well adjusted individual does not speak to others in such a demeaning manner.

What a pity that you have no friends, and no real life. You have come to boards to annoy and irritate other well meaning people, to justify your pathetic exsistance. I am now going to go out with my friends, while you sit by yourself, and annoy people. Mind you, I guess you need to go workout for your 2-3 hours now. I don't know what you do for 2-3 hours, but I can say your regimen is counter productive of whatever youare trying to achieve. At least the members of these forums won't have you around for a few hours...

Why not go to FUH2 site to hang out with your peers. Oh yeah, they have not been updating anything over there for a couple of months now... No wonder you are so lost and lonely.

I restrain myself, because people like Gorton practice this type of behavoir as a cry for help. Hey Diana, go for it. Like the ad says "Like Nothing Else" It is an amazing vehicle. I have a 2004 Hog Edition that I bought 16 months ago and it is in better shape now than when I took it off the showroom floor. It has been a passion with me. My wife calls me the EBAY junkie, because I am always looking for more chrome goodies to put on it. AS far as the mileage goes, let me say this. The safety, security, comfort, drivability and shear good looks far outweigh the not so good mileage. Good luck
