Evidently, you have not driven that much in the snow or rain to understand why the wipers are in the RAP circuit, and not directly tied to the ignition On circuit.
Do you always remember to shut off the wipers on your other vehicles prior to turning off the ignition? Probably not, and it appears you didn't remember on the H3.
GM put the wipers on the RAP circuit so that for those who turn off the ignition and realize the wipers are still on, they can now shut them off with the switch, without having to put the key back into the key cylinder.
Yes, they will stop when the door is opened, and if on a wipe cycle, they will stop in the middle of the windshield. However, this can happen for those who just turn off the ignition with the wipers still on.
You also have to remember, that most of the time wipers are used, it is raining, not snowing.
Now, if you can really come up with a legitimate complaint about the truck, go for it, but to sit and bitch about wiper being on the RAP circuit, is ludicrous.
If it really bothers you that much, switch the circuit to a non-RAP circuit, and all is well, or sell the H3 and buy an Escape.
