After reading all the different experiences with the various types of cat-back system, I finally decided on the MagnaFlow. Went to their site & started listing the shops and began calling. I got as high as $700 installed by Magic Muffler to a low $525 installed from various places.
Finally settled on Royal Muffler in Chatsworth (818-993-9004) & spoke to Jimmy, didn't have a referral but I just cold called, he quoted me $525 & 1.5 hour wait, that was Friday, he called this morning & had the unit in his hands. drove there about 2 hours hours ago, he did the install in 40 mins., that included the extra $10 mins in re-welding one of the tips as it didn't look right to him (looked fine to my untrained eyes).
All in all, a very pleasant dealing with Jimmy, highly recommeded. As for the MagnaFlow, I really like it, has good back-pressure but also feels less restrictive, sound is very good for me, especially since I really didn't have a chance to sample everything in person.
The ONLY thing I would improve is the angle of the tips, given the clearance, it seems that's their only option. In this area, the Borla tips arrangement wins.
FWIW, he also installs Corsa & Borla, he said he personally didn't care for the sound from the Corsa, and the price on Borla.
