Thanks for all the positive comments. I will post more high quality pics in the gallery section once the brushguard and the offroad-lamps have been installed (i.e. when the car is entirely finished).

The rims do NOT need to be "de-chromized" by some acid or toxic substance. It is sufficient to just rough their surface heavily. Then they put on a special primer, which has the specific purpose to fix paint on pre-roughed, but chromed metal surfaces. From there it's a standard paint procedure with a clear coat finish.

They had done this a dozen times on chrome surfaces so they gave me a lifetime guarantee that the paint won't come off... and since I've worked with them a couple of times on other cars before, I highly trust them.

The logo on the center-caps was well covered during that whole process to remain chrome in its exact shape.
