Not sure if it does develop the HP figures they advertise, but I can tell you there definitely is an increase. My SUT used to downshift on a certain highway hill every day on my commute. If it didnt downshift it would slowly drop speed. Now it never downshifts and keeps a constant or slightly increasing speed.
