If you bought the vehicle new, you can ask them to give you assistance. Bring up the point it is a well know problem. This is assuming you're not more than 24k miles outside of your warranty. They can most likely give you both updated mirrors for a small deductible of a couple hundred. K.B. is a good dealer and they should take care of you on that.

Thanks Ken, I will give that a shot.

Thanks Hummertech, I'll give it a try when I pick it up tomorrow. I know its a prob cause I've had them replaced before under warranty on my H2 & theirs. We'll see if K.B. comes through for me tomorrow - they wouldn't for my wife the other day.

Picked it up today, since its Saturday no one was there to help - the little girl was going to get the service manager to call me next week. We'll see what happens. Just seems something should be done on GMs part since its a known problem.

I wish you luck! KB is my dealer too, and I would like to think that he's a good Hummer dealer.

My dealer is going to remove the strips from the mirrors and the plastic piece above the license plate on the tire carrier and have them black chrome for me.

Just got my 06 mirrors on my 03 Lux-very nice and much more stable. Gotta get used to the look, but at least the vibration wont drive me crazy.

What is the criteria for the dealer to just replace them with '06 mirrors? A friend of mine had his '05 in yesterday for the mirror problem and they said they replaced them but they are the old style. Aren't they only replacing them with '06 mirrors now?

Its my understanding that any mirror replacement should be with the new 06 style. The mirrors are a documented service issue, so just simply complaining about the vibration should get them replaced, assuming you are still under warrenty.

There is currently a very limited supply of the new style mirrors. Also, dealers may be trying to use up their remaning stock of the old style mirrors, so you may have to specify if you want the new mirrors

I finally saw the new mirrors today at the dealership. Well. . .everyone has different tastes, so for those that like them, that's fine. I think they look chinsy and cheap; like they were trying just a little too hard to find another place to put the logo. Guess I better take good care of the ones I've got.

Another fine GM improvement on a classicly styled vehicle.
They will **** it up further as time goes on.
Hold onto your 03's
