We installed the hardware to make the second row seats recline and it works perfectly. Here are the facts:
1. Our goal was to have the seats recline enough for people to sleep while we are driving (not for
the cushions to lie flat). The hardware does exactly that. The stock H2 seats cannot recline
further than the leading edge of the bins in the cargo area. The hardware stops the seat just
before it touches the bin. If you want to recline the left row seat, you'll need to relocate
the tire jack.
2. The little lever on the floor controls the seats through 5 or 6 positions of reclining.
The seats are spring loaded so they return to the upright position if you move the lever and
lean forward. The seatbacks fold flat for cargo storage exactly the way they do from the factory.
3. To my eye, the hardware is very strong and well manufactured. I was surprised how large and
heavy it is. It came shipped in a sturdy cardboard box packed with excelsior. The box and
contents arrived in perfect shape.
4. Full disclosure: The manufacturer shipped me the hardware on approval from Japan because I
was his first U.S. customer. When I told him it was perfect, he refused to let me pay because I
was the first person willing to take a chance on his product in the U.S.
5. The originally quoted price was $900. However, I'm told now that the price will be $600 U.S.
6. I had the parts installed for $290 at Mini's Auto Body in Inglewood, CA: (310) 568-8711.
The parts came with complete instructions.
7. You can contact the manufacturer at: sunrocky@fukushin-ind.com
8. Manufacturer website: http://www.fukushin-ind.com
Our family is 100% happy with the product
Best regards,
George

Great job! Are the instructions detailed enough that someone could do this themselves? I don't know if I would ever need the recline feature (I'm always in one of the front seats ) But it's nice to know it's available.

Doc:
The instructions come with step-by-step photos and text that show every aspect from start to finish. I had the
brackets professionally installed because I knew it would be months before I found the time to do it.
The readers of this forum can definitely install these brackets themselves.

George SSSS,
Thanks for the update on the install. Looks good and the product seems to be exactly what I am looking. How long did you have to what for the product to arrive after you ordered it?

Lean:
I waited something like a week or two. I really don't recall because I wasn't in a rush. I remeber that when
it arrived it seemed like a reasonable waiting period. The manufacturer is a very decent guy. If you're in a
rush I expect he'd arrange airfreight for you. But the parts are pretty heavy so it might be expensive.

Excellent!! George, in your photos, is that the farthest recline the kit will allow?

Where did you relocate the jack to (bad grammar, I know! ) -- any photos?

H2 Finally: Hi neighbor. Yes, you can't recline further than shown in my pictures because the H2 seat will
bump up against the front edge of the cargo area bin that is above the rear wheel tire well. The hardware I
bought stops the seat just before it touches the cargo area bin.
Lolo: When I go on long trips, it's just my two sons and me (one in front and the other in the right rear
seat). Therefore, I didn't bother relocating the jack that is located behind the left rear seat.
We just don't recline that seat.
Best regards,
George SSSS

Update:
We've used the reclining second row hardware for a month now and it works great. Something happened that
we didn't anticipate. The second row seats of the H2 are very vertical (IMO). We've found that keeping
the second row in the first position of recline (just a few degrees of tilt) makes the second row hugely
more comfortable. It also gets the second row passengers' head further away from the first row seatbacks,
making the rear seating area seem more spacious.
Best regards,
George SSSS

Lindbergh:
Yes, that is the same product. After I bought mine directly from Japan, the manufacturer found a distributor in New Jersey.
Our family has been using the reclining brackets for about three months and they've been perfect. They look to me to be sturdier
than the original units, so I expect they'll be good as long as I have the H2 [planning on at least 5 years].
Best regards,
George

Friends: exercise101 sent me a PM that I answered. In case anyone else is interested, here's the info:
The fellow also sells it on e-bay. Here's the link

If you have any problems with it, let me know and I'll find another way for you to get in touch with him.
My installation continues to work perfectly.

Very cool, I may have to look in to this. As my kids would love it on long road trips.
