I already had an appointment scheduled for next Tuesday for my oil etc. so I called them and told them. The Service Advisor told me that is normal - I said in the middle of the muffler? He said yes.
I know it is an actual hole because I can slightly feel the air coming through - what I don't know is it made to do this like he said? Upon closer review it looks like it is supposed to be there.
The area is right before the leaf springs - the muffler is expanded in this area.
The weep hole is suposed to be there to let condensation drip out.
It looks like there is a second hole in the middle of the muffler?
Looks like your H3 has seen some trail use too!!

That's also normal.
GM uses the cheapest seals they can buy. Always have.

Sure, GM wants to purchase the cheapest seals so that their warranty costs go up....makes sense to me. By the way, the seal on the rear axle is not determined by GM, but by American Axle, the manufacture of the axle.
Only seals I have ever had that failed on a GM vehicle are drive axle seals, and they usually fail due to improper installation of the axle at the manufacturing site.
Liquid seals usually fail due to the machine at the plant being out of calibration, or running out causing a skip, and the operator allows the unit to be shipped without tagging for car final to repair before shipment.
The FJs are calling you...
