dna is off the scale
Default ac blowing warm

Haven't used my ac for a very very long time (maybe a year +). Just turned it on and all I get is warm air. Actually is slightly colder if I only put temp down to 15 and do not hit the ac button (warms up once I hit the ac button).

So where do I start. Confirmed the belt is good and the compressor is turning with the belt.

Thanks

Don't forget that when you see the AC symbol, it has a small line through it....means it is turned off....when the symbol is not showing, then the AC is on....I always have found this strange...why not put in an AC symbol for ON and no Symbol for OFF instead of a crossed out AC symbol, which is soooo tiny that nobody can see it.

Thumbs up Re: ac blowing warm

Sounds to me like your compressor has gone out. Either it has gone out or it has blown a seal. Any vehicle AC place should be able to assess this and fix the seal if that is what it is. If not, you're looking at about $1k for a new compressor.

I have had both happen, so I am familiar with the symptoms. 1st time, it was the compressor that had gone out. Second time, it happened right after winter the first time I went to turn on my AC, just started blowing warm. This time it was the seal. Apparenlty, cold to warm weather can mess with the seal and weather it to where it pops off. Hopefully that is all it is- good luck.

the main cause for a bad compressor seal is not running thee A/C in the winter. The seal takes a set and then leaks. Try to run your A/C for a few minutes every week during the winter
