Is the radio opening in the H2 double DIN or DIN 1.5? If it is Double DIN is any modification needed? Also, what do you lose if you totaly remove the factory stereo and what are the benefits to relocating the factory stereo (underneath a rear seat)with a complete aftermarket setup?

There are some posts regarding what can be done with the factory stereo. I believe if you remove it completley you will lose the steering wheel functions to control the stereo. What has been recommended is to leave the factory stereo hooked up and left behind the dash (apparently there is room) and then install the aftermarket deck.
I hope this helps a little.

Hey,
The radio opening is double DIN and there is plenty of room to do what you want in the dash. If you swap the radio out you can add an apaptor to maintain the steering wheel controls. You will need to keep the circuit board out of the radio only, this is required to keep the Onstar functioning. The radio is very modular and the circuit board can be removed very easily. Just wrap it up and place it inside the dash behind the new radio.

Actually, you don't need any of the radio. There is a piece from a company called Peripheral that makes a steering control adapter and an the GM Onstar adapter. This way the entire factory radio and amp can come out and become a tire chaulk.

Which one would that be?
Everything I have read so far there is no updated version available for the H2.
Couldn't find anything on their sites:
