Default I need sunroof help!

My sunroof will start to close but get hung up. When there is enough resistance it will stop. It opens without any issue. I can close it by assisting with my hand (pushing it shut). Does it just need lubrication (and if so, where and with what?) or is a dealer visit in my future?

Had the exact same thing happen to my '03 about 6 months ago, had to take it to the dealer. They took down the headliner, took out the glass, greased & adjusted the frame. No problems since!

I have seen many where the guides are broken and cannot be purchased separtly from the entire sunroof assembly less glass. If the guides break the glass does not track straight and will reverse or just stop. You can tell by watching closely when it is closing and if the glass cocks sideways you can bet the guides are broken. I have seen no other fix other than replacing the entire module. Not what you wanted to hear i know.

I agree. I've been dealing with it for almost a year now. In order to close the sunroof, I have to push the button with one hand and push UP with the other.

Don't push forward, push UP... it keeps the tracks straight. I started pulling it apart to see what the problem is and it's just a crappy design.

I even paid an extra 300 dollars on an extended warranty to cover the sunroof when I bought it.

When I made the claim to fix it, they refunded my 300 bucks and told me to pound salt. I couldn't do anything about it because they found out I put a supercharger on it and said they would drop me if I pursued it.

Oh well, guess I'll continue pushing upwards for a while. I ain't spending 1600 bucks for a new setup. (though I saw one go on ebay for 400 bucks....missed that one)

Thank you all for your replies. It looks as though I have a trip so the dealer in my future. No biggie. I have the extended. They won't void my warranty for having a chip will they? Should I not tempt fate and just remove it before I go in?

Yes, definitely remove it before you take it in. Take no chances.

Forget the dealers. Go to an aftermarket warranty company. I did, they take good care of me.
There is no reason why they should charge $300.00 to cover the sunroof. That is included in my coverage.
I agree that any modifications will void ANY warranty. They make that clear before you purchase, if you ask.
Anyway the place where I got my warranty was the only one I found that offered coverage on my H1. For those of you who are interested here is the link.

Warranty is warranty, if it falls under factory warranty an aftermarket warranty company will not cover it. Sorry just dont see your point here. After factory warranty expires then your aftermarket policy goes into effect.
