Default MAF Sensor

I have a 03 rig.. Has anyone ever had to change their MAF sensor? I have a code that reads that... In prior posts, I thought my battery was going dead, but since then, I havent had a problem.... But, when I drive with my heat on, my truck idols lower than normal and tends to die. When I took it in to get the engine light checked, it showed MAF sensor...

Default Re: MAF Sensor

Before you replace the MAF, try cleaning it and throttle body with Carb Cleaner.

Try some maf sensor cleaner from autozone or pepboys if there out electronics cleaner will work. Cleaned mine out and cleared my light. I tend to get some K&N oil on mine most of the time!!!

Definitely use MAF specific cleaner. I am not sure but I would assume carb cleaner will damage the elements in the MAF.

I am sure carb cleaner would be fine on the throttle body if you had some laying around. But they also sell throttle body specific cleaner as well. A lot of the application specific sprays are based on what film or particles each of the sprays will leave behind.
