Hi, I was invited to your forum by h2co-pilot.
I don't have a Hummer, but I enjoy wheeling with all types of vehicles. She said I'd be welcome here, but if that's not the case, please just say so.
Once my junk is up and running and fully tested, I would like to tag along on a run in the Phoenix area if you guys don't mind.
I'm very interested in the H3s and H1s. I've wheeled with 2 H1's in AZ and a big group in Moab in the past. Very cool vehicles. I don't know much about H2s as I haven't seen any on the trails yet.
In any case, here's some older pics of my rig (in progress). I'm still several months out from completion.
***EDIT**** Added pics back in......
I started the chassis back in Feb. of 2004....unfortunately, I haven't been able to work on it alot so it's taking far longer than expected to finish.
Hope to wheel with you guys soon.
Take care,
Sean King

Sweet buggy! ![](http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif) And welcome to the forum.
Too bad I'm not near AZ, I'd love to see that thing in action. I think there were some folks planning something soon.

Let me know when you're ready to wheel at azhog@earthlink.net. I'll add you to the Arizona Hummer Owners Group mailing list.

Thanks for the compliments guys.
Steve, I'll take you up on that...just gotta finish this thing first.
So, how active is the AZ group? How many members and what kind of wheeling do you guys like to do? I saw a snow run listed recently. Just wondering what other trails you guys have run. Any pics or links to an album? What about models....I know a ton of H2s have been sold here and I see more and more H3s (I know there's a decent sized H1 club already in the state), do you guys get good participation from all 3 models?

We're pretty active. More so before the huge fires that closed down nearly 1/3 of the available trails. The BLM is threatning (thanks to the moron greenies) to close down the Florence Junction area, which comprises another 1/3rd of all the good trails.
We're planning to do one before the huge heat wave hits - like in late April/Early May.

Oh. Duh. About the particpation of the 3 variants. We get pretty good turnout of all three varieties.
You can see some of the trails we have hit. Go to www.azhog.org, and hit events.

Steve, did you get the latest on SB 1508.
If you haven't read the details.....go to:
http://www.asa4wdc.org/
I won't tell you what way to vote as I haven't had a chance to read all of it. Please, just get involved.
Hopefully, by the time my junk is running there are actually trails left to run.

Okay, I read it. ASA4WDC wants us to call our senators and reps and tell them to vote "NO" on SB 1508.
It's not that the ASA doesn't support SB 1508 aka "Copper Sticker" program (similar to "green" stickers in CA), they simply don't like the wording.
Personally, I'm completely against the sticker initiative.....the Federal Government has mandated "designation" of trails but the important part is: they haven't allocated ANY money to make it happen. Therefore, with no money to sign the trails open or closed and no money to pay for law enforcement, we maintain access to every trail regardless of whether or not BLM or the FS say an area is closed. They simply do not have the resources to enforce that closure.
Now, is the ASA's sticker plan a good one with good points? IMO, yes, but it also gives the govt. the funding they so desperately need as well as the information as to the mapping of our trails to actually enforce closures.
The real question is: how much do you trust the government? I've been involved in a lot of these "scoping" meetings in the past. They all start out the same way...."Tell us where your trails are so we can document them. If you don't tell us, they'll automatically be closed."
Keep in mind they don't know where these trails are even located when they start this process....So, stupidly, we tell them the location.....and within a year, they usually close several of them.
Why do we keep doing this? If we'd keep our mouths shut, there'd be no need for regulation (at least in the areas I wheel) and no need for anything more than a STL permit.
Sorry for the rant.

We're called Zonies.
I checked AZH3's other posts.....just a troll. Are there no moderators on this site to kick people off that pull this kind of stunt?

Hmm....interesting post. More proof that Arizona's more of a melting pot than originally thought.

That is one sweet looking Buggy you got. When you get it up and runing, you have to have The Beastmaster to show you the trail Raw Deal and Upper Raw Deal. It is a fun trail to run.

That's one of only a few trails I haven't run at Table Mesa.
I've run Upper and Lower Terminator, Armaggeddon (before it was closed), Annihilator, Anaconda, and Predator.
I haven't run Raw Deal, Judgement Day, Twister, Die Hard, Collateral Damage, Matrix, Seventh Day (now closed)....but they're on my to do list once I get my junk done. Pretty much all of these are new trails....except Raw Deal. I started my buggy project about the time the oldest of these was opened....which is why I haven't run them yet.
I saw you guys ran Martinez Canyon a while back (from AZHOG's site). Beautiful run....easy and scenic, very relaxing; one of my favorites. I'd definitely be interested in tagging along if you guys decide to do it again. It's so late in the season now though, I'd probably have to wait until next fall.
This is the old rig I wheeled.....I tore it apart to build the buggy.
It's on an imagestation account (which sucks BTW), so you'll probably have to copy and paste.
The above pic is from Highway to Hell trail in Florence Junction. This pic's old too....taken in 2000 (it's just one of the better pics I have of it).
