Default How many feet 3/8" Syn cable will spool up on 9500 winch?

Will 125' 3/8" synthetic cable fit on a Warn 9500 winch?

In theory, you want as little line wrapped on the drum as is practical, given that you will have at least 25ft or so out nearly every time you winch.

Reason being, the strength of the winch is when the line is down to the last row of wraps on the drum. Every row of wraps above the first lessens the pull power of the winch. So if you stuff 125ft on there and don't really use it that much, you would effectively be working the winch harder than if you had a 100ft line doing the same work. Getting the line extension is the best route.

Just to put a footnote on Paragon's excellent explanation, you can use a snatch block to double the amount of line you are using for a short range pull and thereby increase the power of the winch. In this way, you can have the flexibility of having the longer amount of line on the winch, but still have the power of having purchased a shorter length.
