Default Electrical Issues...

So earlier this week I discovered after work my battery was dead and needed a jump. Got a buddy to help out and made it home with no issues. I figured cold weather got the best of the battery and it was weak. Later this week I was having the winshield replaced (New England is the worst in the winter for rock throwing trucks!!) when my wife calls and said the truck wouldn't start again. Got it jumped again but when I turmed the ignition off, the battery light stayed on and the door locks would not unlock. Frustrated, I called the dealer in R.I. (whom I do not like because they refuse to work with my extended warrenty company) and took it in to have it looked at. 5 hours later, I get it back. Dealer said a bad ignition switch and a battery ($580.00) were all that were wrong. Drove it home, releived unitl....got home and turned the key off. Battery light on again. So here are the symptoms so far...
Battery light on after key removed
Accesories do not turn off after doors opened
Anticipate a dead battery again tomorrow
Any ideas??? Cant afford to keep driving to another state for poor troubleshooting skills. Thanks

sounds more like the alternator gone bad and not charging....

Did you add any aftermarket products?

sounds like the ignition switch is not adjusted properly and is staying in the accessory position with new key off. try turning the key to off and really turn it hard. if the lights go out the ign switch is misadjusted. Also try turning the key slowly to the start position, if the engine cranks just as you past the on position is another indication adjustment is out.

Diddo I had the same thing happen. The dealer replaced Ign switch, and because they did not install it right, it happened again!
They came to the house and fixed it and replaced the battery they killed!
It was under warranty or I would have done it myself.
