Default Rear spare tire carrier...

I'm looking into getting a rear spare tire carrier to make more room inside hatch of H2.....I have an 04, if I get the one that came on the 03-05 models, will I need to drill any more holes through bumper or will it basically just mount into the same holes as my existing tow hooks?? thanks and also note if I were to get the newer style what I may have to do or are all years the same?? thanks for info....

There was no factory option until mid 05 - they were all aftermarket. They didn't age well, but installation was pretty simple. The hardest part was probably the license plate relocation, which isn't too bad. I'd get the current factory parts that have been used for years, and drill the 3rd hole it requires. It's a much better part than the aftermarket options.

If you do a ton of DIY work it shouldnt be bad, but I wouldn't make it your first project.

Brian,

How is it going, I have a 03 h2 and my buddy gave me his swing gate becuase he didnt want it anymore, how would i bolt it on my h2? I bought a spare tire cover w the license plate that goes in the middle, how would i get the light to work? I hope i dont have to drill into my bumper I rather not have any holes in it, is that possible

Greg
