Hi,

The Dealer changed last week my brakes and Air filter within my free first year maintenance.

He charged me for US$700,

I need to know if the they are included in the free maintenance contract within the first year or no, and also if the real cost is 700$.

Elie

Wow!!! What did you break() for $700?

You should not have ANY problems with your brakes in the first year. The dealer definitely should have covered them under warranty.

Hi,

He changed only the Brake Pads and not the Slotted Brake.

If you needed new brake pads and air filter after only 1 year you must be really thrashing your ride and $700 WOW! Did you get a kiss afterwards?

25,000 Km, that translates to approx. 15,534 miles. That even makes it worse than I thought. I was told by my mechanic at the local H2 dealership that GM "over engineered" the brakes when they designed the trucks, and he has seen them last as much as 50,000-60,000 miles on some trucks. You should think about slowing down and lightning up on that brake pedal.

P/S: You might want to think about calling Scottland Yard and filing a report. I think you got robbed.

Well,

Lebanon is full of Green and Snow mountains, so riding up and down all day, it may use all the brakes within 15k miles.
I know he needs to add shipping and customs but need to know the real cost in usa.

The dealership that I go to charges $85.00 for a new factory airfilter and they charge $94.50 an hour for labor. They are closed this afternoon so I can't check on the price of a brake job.

Here are some links to Moss Motors. They carry after market H2 parts and accessories. This should give you some idea what these parts would cost.

Ok, now I know why this whiner is complaining about the super-duper special price. He's in Lebanon!!!
You're lucky you didn't have to screw a goat, too.
You can't ask us for opinions on pricing over there. ASK YOUR STEALERSHIP WHY THE PRICE IS SO HIGH!!!
And while you're at it ask the Syrians why, after you guys have allowed them to slither around like filthy slimy terroristic snakes, that they have finally turned on you and bitten you in the ass.

I put a air filter in mine at about 50,000 miles because i felt like. I think it was about $80.00. My brake pads are only about 1/2 worn with 65,000 miles on them. I bet you didnt need any repair work , especially at 1 year.

I drive up and down the mountains every weekend. at 18,ooo+ miles, my breaks are fine. I downshift (compression brake) when going down hills and I never carry more than 500 lbs of explosives in the back.

Unless your H2 is built with a different style of brake pad since it is an export model, your brakes should exceed 60K miles greatly. Same goes with the air filter. I thought they said something in the owners manual about those air filters lasting a long time. Price does sound a bit high also.

Hi,

Shipping and customs is just 25% and i'm still in my first free year of maintenance. so if the price in US is 100$, the price will be here is 125$ only.

Do we need to change the rear brakes pad everytime we change the front brakes pad ?

Elie
