The 2003 winter season is here and I want to run the H2 up to the Sierra's this coming weekend. Wish to carry chains, although I doubt I'll need them. Don't want to be turned back by the CHP if I don't have any to show. On I80 and 50 I hear they will turn you back if you don't have them.

Read all the previous chain posts. Did not find a solution on the list.

Thanks in advance.

Just go to the hardware store and buy some chain. Put it in a bag or bucket. Then you can point to it and say "There's my tire chains"

smooth move dan!!! I like that, cheap alternative too..

I love the h2 in the snow, the combination of sheer weight, aggressive tires, and 4 wheel drive setups, make it next to impossible to get stuck in the snow... toss a winch on the front and then who cares if you do get stuck..

Found this site, they have chains that will fit my 35x12.50's for around 115 bucks per pair.

The web site Bridger posted actually has pictures of chains on a H2 wheel.

I have always ended up making my own sets since I always seem to be going bigger in tire size, I buy chain in bulk as well as links and then its just a simple matter of cutting and linking em just right. I just did 4 sets to fit my 35s for under $60, but thats just me.
I rarely ever use em, but when I did it was a savior, alone and way outback in snow/mud.
