Utility knife. took me about 30 minutes per tire. I cut in about 1/2" deep (About 80% of the lug.). I didn't like the machine siping because it made too many cuts and the possibility of chunking off during off-roading.
It was during the winter time and I was fish tailing in my M/Ts on the snow and ice covered streets. After I siped them, it was like I had on the A/Ts.

30-minutes per tire sounds pretty quick. Is this how you really did it?

I have the BFG M/T in size 22"...i really like the look but they are a little loud on the streets. i've always wondered if they would be better if i had them siped.

i was playing with these tires this weekend at truckfest, the should be out shortly, and they wer doing pre orders on them with like 100 off a set of 4 and free shipping, i think they are going to have the same deal this weekend at truckfest in atlanta

That is excellent info. I love the MTs, but they were absolutely terrible in the snow.

sep 07 more biased towards 18" and up rims so better upgrade--lol still have 315/17s though and 37" on 17s

I run BFG MT's and have had no problem in heavy snow, infact they go through the stuff better than any previous tire I've had
