That would be my guess too. your amp reading is from your alternator. It shouldnt fluctuate like that unless the alternator is bad. Let us know what exactly the deal is.Quote:

pretty much your alt died at some point, and the whole time you were driving you were on battery power. maybe the alt was giving some charge..

It turned out to be bad gas plus the battery voltage fluctuation was due to corrosion on the positive battery terminal.
I tested the battery and alternator, and they both were fine...
