I just bought my H2 2 weeks ago. I am looking for chrome wheels. I like the look of the factory wheel. Has anyone used the chrome exchange listed on ebay? I saw full chrome from LA Wheel and I was wondering how they hold up. Pitting, peeling, etc,

I bought a set on e-Bay from "btiwheels" in November '04 and they are perfect. Shipping was very reasonable with these guys as well.
I've had them on for 6 months and they still look GREAT!
These guys ALWAYS have some for sale(must be takeoffs @ a dealer).

Jim, I don't know of their quality, but most of these places just send out the wheels to a few of the chromers in the area. I thought I just compare the pricing for you as though I would be a walk-in as I'm local to them.
They quoted me $475 for a set of 4 exchange and another $120 for the caps & labor to swap. I then call another vendor I have had a set of BMW 7 series and a set of Infiniti FX-45 rims swapped (both times cost me $500+tax), swapped, caps and labor included. This same vendor quoted me $500 again for the H2 rims. These figures are just for comparison, obviously LA Wheel pricing for eBay is a bit different and they seem to have fairly good feedbacks.
BTW, they also confirmed that what they have in inventory ARE NOT factory chrome take-offs, these are just standard OEM rims they swapped and had them chromed.

i also bought a set from bti wheels on ebay, the ones i bought were oem chrome takeoffs with less than 100 miles on them.there is a difference between the factory chrome which has rough areas between the spokes and the chrome plated aftermarket ones which are smooth between the spokes.

I like them both, but I think I like the all chrome better.

i think the aftermarket ones look better, but oem chrome seems to hold up alot better ,especially in salt.oem also has hummer on the center caps.

I have a set of chrome aftermarket OEM rims fully chromed here at my place and have never mounted them. I am close by if you want to look at them. I like them better than the factory ones and you can always buy factory caps if you do not like the aftermarket ones.
I am willing to let them go---have no need for them.
PM me if you want to take a look.
You can also check out my new H2 pace car if you stop up. It is on my website on the front page--black 2004 with some custom King shocks and a chrome and powdercoated 12" suspension.

I haven't seen the after-market ones up close but I tend to agree that the smooth finish is more appealing. I was offered the factory OEM cromed when I bought my H2, and I didn;t like how the rough surface show up. Having said that, I think the non-chrome finish ones look fine.
