Hi,

For a certain reason I need to disable the mileometer on my hummer h2 while I drive it from the port to be tested as a new vehicle import as I need to keep the mileage below 350. Is this easy to do. Does it run off the gearbox or can I take a fuse out.

thanks

Scott

Why don't you put it on a flatbed or have it towed?

Yes this is very easy to do. All you have to do is order a new dash cluster for your H2 and then take the stock one out, but all the miles on the truck you want to and then reinstall the stock dash cluster. You will then have the original miles on the vehicle and only the tech will be able to tell if they ever check the computer. Should cost you about $379 for the cluster, you should check out ebay or something like that. Good luck.

How about this. Mount a mirror at a 45 D angle above the odometer and then it would at least read backwards.

That'll probably work, as long as the dealer falls for it!

Yes! Driving backwards will work!!! I know that for a fact because that's what they do in Canada. It was Dennis who told me...so it must be true

I'm a little confused though and thought that maybe some of you experts out there can clear up a technical question for me...Is the mileometer that little doohickey thingamajig that's on our dash where the rev-o-meter and speed-o-meter are located? And if I'm not mistaken, I think that our H2's are also equipped with a temp-o-meter too? But the part that's really confusing me is where our odometer is located...does anybody know???

TJ, why would you make fun of the guy because he refers to an odometer as a mileometer?. That's what an odometer is called in the UK. The device records miles thus mileometer.

You are the first to jump on peoples asses for making fun of others but I guess it’s ok for you to do that. Hypocritical little b**ch aren’t you?

If seems as if you might have taken this in the wrong way Alec and a way in which it was definitely not intended. I was just having a little fun with words, and it was directed at words and words only. Ever seen that great monologue Gallagher does about words and the English language? Absolutely hilarious! Oh well, I guess you're telling me that I'm no Gallagher, so please accept my apologies if I have offended either you or any of the others on this forum by playing around with words like that.
